Ahead of the reopening of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, the Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika performed an inaugural flight to the newly rehabilitated runway, to ascertain the quality of work done.
Confirming through his twitter handle @hadisirika the minister commented: “Just landed on the reconstructed Enugu runway, excellent riding quality. We will commission it for general use tomorrow, alongside very many works at Enugu.”
The inaugural flight from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, beats the August 30 deadline.
Sirika had promised to relocate to the airport ahead of the reopening of the facility.
